A spotlight on Digitisation and Digitalisation
State IT Agency’s GovTech is an annual conference platform for government and industry representatives to network and assist citizens make better use of information and communication technology.
This year celebrating its 14th year of existence, GovTech is the biggest and highly attended South African ICT conference focused on public sector ICT service delivery. The Conference aim is to bring the Government and ICT industry together on a multifaceted platform to enable connecting, learning, sharing, and collaborating.
This year’s theme was Digitisation and Digitalisation, Sebenza was delighted to get a stand to showcase the services and products offered to our public transport commuters. We were available for the full 3 days of the conference also sharing how Sebenza continues to bridge the digital divide for people on the move.
The event was attended by government delegates including Minister of Communication and Digital Technologies Ms Khumbudzo Ntshavheni MP who delivered the keynote address. The speakers included industry experts, DGs, DDGs, CIOs, Board members, CEOs and academics who spoke about connectivity, how technology can better enable the provision of services and the influence this will have.
“The experience was absolutely amazing, and our stand was always packed with visitors,” says Calvin Le Mottee (Director and Co-Founder of Sebenza). He went on and added “people know who we are. We had people from all parts of the country telling us they’ve seen our Sebenza taxis and they wanted to know more about our product”. Wesley Dorning (Director and Co-Founder of Sebenza) added “there’s a lot of excitement to follow” their GovTech experience.
